Another fine round of Futsal which saw some great contests, all games were close with the highest deficit being a 2 goal victory. Game of the night i believe was between Hard Core Noobs and Spray n Wipe. HCN won it in the end with a one goal difference however were very lucky as the Spray n WIpe hit the uprights to many times to count … Please see below for full match report.. Spray N WIpe were thus the biggers losers of the week falling a massive three places just for losing a game with a one goal difference. That should give you a good clue on just how close things are in this comp, reminiscence of last comp ..
In the other games Black Eagles on a losing streak as they go down to Those Guys who have just ended a 2 match loosing streak, David Tse reports for that game:
7pm : Those Guys vs Black Eagles: Both sides headed into the game knowing a win will leap them into the Top 4.
After a nervous opening by boths sides, just before half time ‘Those Guys’ were awarded a indirect free kick.
David Tse’s low drilled shot was guided into the back of the net by the faint touch from Ricardo de Gamboa to open the scoring. The second goal came from a deflected David Tse’s shot.
Black Eagles were awarded a debatable penalty which was cooly converted by Cagri. The penalty swung momentum to the Black Eagles, who were unlucky to not have equalised with a header going just wide and a shot hitting the cross bar. Tim Smith for ‘Those Guys’ pouced on the Black Eagles defender and cooly converted the 3rd goal for ‘Those Guys’ which secured the win. Reports compliments of David Tse
7:40pm HCN vs Spray N Wipe: The Matchup between Hard Core Noobs and Spray n Wipe was the battle to determine who would lead the competition into Round 6 and the game was closely contested until the final whistle. HCN got off to a flying start, working the ball with ease through the heart of the Spray n Wipe defence creating and finishing their first chance of the game – with the HCN player successfully converting his breakaway one on one with a powerful strike that sent the keeper the wrong way. The game was mainly played in midcourt as Spray n Wipe tried to strike back however it was HCN who looked more dangerous in front of goal. The second half sprung to life when a direct free kick was blasted by Francis Basbas for Spray n Wipe, the ball glancing down off the crossbar and into the net. With this injection of energy the match opened up and the chances were coming thick and fast as both sides forced good saves out of the keepers. In the final minutes HCN intercepted a clearance, with what appeared to be a 6th man on the court, he distributed the ball wide to Milos Popadic who struck the ball firmly into the top corner, netting to give the ladder leaders the lead late in the Match (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=222175477837390) as Spray n Wipe’s disagreement with the decision fell on deaf ears. The last chance in the Match would fall to Oskar Frankl as his attempt to score a dramatic equalizer was denied only by the woodwork (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=222177521170519). 7:40pm Scuba FC vs Froosh: Froosh trying hard but still unable to get that win as Scuba FC cruise to a 4-2 victory thanks to a magnificent hat trick from Sinan Soyoz. Scuba never looking troubled however did comp a few in the second half as Froosh looked to have been making a come back, however just not enough juice in em to get them those vaulable goals as there fate was sealed by a late goal to Dazza Reynolds a few minutes from full time, click here for his goal http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=222170101171261 . Final score was 4-2 to Scuba FC ..
9:00pm Snipers vs Last Place : Last Place starting positive and scoring first in this game , click here for the goalhttp://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=222553974466207, as the SNipers started off very unsteadily, this has been a trend in recent games, however were able to get there momentum back as they came back soon after with a goal from Kutty after a great reflexive assist from Ibrahim, click to view goal http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=222507091137562. The game was going in a balance until the controversial penalty came in the second half. Last Place a bit unlucky there as it seems the benefit of a doubt went against them. From there on Snipers gaining control of the game as Last Place seemed to have lost morale.Final goal from Atalay, sealed the fate and decided the final score 3-1 to the Snipers which carries them to second just behind HCN.
